LOS ANGELES - 24 DP Rodney Charters says the producers of the popular Fox show have decided to shoot in HD instead of the 35mm format they've gone with up until now. Charters headed up a workshop at HD EXPO recently and talked about working with the Red camera. He also showed material acquired using his Red, which is equipped with a Canon EF 70-200mm 2.8L lens.
On the back of Charters' camera (pictured) is a wireless HD transmitter, which he said is great for Steadicam use. The Boxx antenna transmits as well as down-converts on the fly, so SD is available at the receiver.
